A Bigger Battery for More Range

The Vida VX2 Plus 4.4kWh retains the same motor and most of the equipment as the existing VX2 Plus 3.4kWh, but the bigger battery boosts its IDC-certified range to 187 kilometres — 41km more than the 146km offered by the 3.4kWh version. The battery pack consists of two removable 2.2kWh batteries, making it easy to charge at home or work.

Battery and Charging

The Vida VX2 Plus 4.4kWh comes with a 1kW Zap Charger, compared to the 580W charger supplied with the standard version. With the bundled AC charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in 3 hours and 17 minutes, 20 to 80% in 2 hours and 28 minutes, and 0 to 100% in 5 hours and 8 minutes. The scooter also supports DC fast charging, enabling a 0 to 80% charge in 65 minutes and a full 0 to 100% charge in 150 minutes under standard test conditions.

Motor and Performance

The electric scooter gets a 6kW (8.98hp) permanent magnet synchronous motor. It has a top speed of 90km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 40km/h in 3.1 seconds. The EV also offers an 18-degree gradeability. The scooter has a 777mm seat height, 851mm seat length, 120kg kerb weight, 27.2 litres of under-seat storage, and an extra 4.8-litre front storage compartment.

Features and Equipment

The Vida VX2 Plus 4.4kWh gets Eco, Ride and Sport riding modes, a 4.3-inch TFT display, smartphone connectivity, and turn-by-turn navigation. It is also compatible with over-the-air (OTA) updates. The scooter has a front disc and rear drum brake setup with CBS, and rides on 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends.

Pricing and Availability

The Vida VX2 Plus 4.4kWh has a standard sticker price of Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, the effective price drops to Rs 1.14 lakh after deducting the central PM E-Drive subsidy of Rs 30,000 and a discount of Rs 2,000. Deliveries will begin at authorised dealerships across India by the end of July 2026.

Bottom Line

The Hero Vida VX2 Plus 4.4kWh addresses the biggest concern with electric scooters — range anxiety — by offering 187km of IDC range at an effective price of Rs 1.14 lakh after subsidies. With removable batteries and DC fast charging, it is a practical option for daily commuters who need more distance than the standard variant provides.
